What Are The Differences Between Permanent, Temporary and Contract Work
Permanent roles typically are full-time, salaried roles that recruiters are able to recruit for and earn a placement fee on Reflik that is a percentage of the base salary. Additionally, permanent roles typically include full benefits such as medical, dental, or other insurance, along with added perks like paid vacation, maternity/paternity leave, paid sick days, retirement packages, and others.
Temporary roles are usually short-term needs to cover permanent employees that may be out for a period of time, increases in workloads, such as holiday periods, or other limited needs for a fixed period of times. Typically, these are paid hourly and do not include benefits like those provided in a permanent role.
Contract roles, often called contingent labor, are roles that recruiters on Reflik can submit candidates for that often are for limited engagements with a particular company to cover project needs or other increased workloads. The contract employee is typically on the Reflik payroll and has the option to opt-in to particular benefits (typically at their own cost). Many contract employees will move from one company to another every 6 to 12 months, depending on a company’s needs.
